Topic: Suicide Prevention Awareness – QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)
A CDC Report shows that the Construction Industry is amongst the highest at-risk industries for suicide with an alarming rate of 45-53 suicide loses per 100,000 workers. The industry has identified Risk Factors that are unique to the construction. There are also resources available that can help combat these risk factors and support industry’s efforts in suicide prevention and mental well-being.

Bio: Steve Frost joined the construction safety world in 2007 after going back to school at the age of 25. One area that Steve felt drawn to is mental health and the impacts to the construction industry. Steve is a QPR Liaison for the Construction Suicide Prevention Partnership. Construction is the second highest at-risk occupation group that sees mental health issues; many of which lead to suicide. Steve has made it his mission to help reverse that statistic.
