AZASSP February Technical Meeting FY23

This month’s technical meeting will be a collaborative event with the Arizona Central Chapter of RIMS (Risk Management Society). The presentation will be focused on Temporary Worker Safety, the corresponding OSHA Emphasis Program, and industry Best Practices from a Temporary Staffing Agency.

“To those that don’t work in the Temporary service industry, you may not realize just how big this industry is. During the course of a year staffing companies hire around 16 million temporary and contract employees. There are roughly 25,000 staffing and recruiting companies which operates 49,000 offices across the United States. There are questions between a staffing company and their client such as who is responsible for the safety of the Temporary worker, who is responsible for their training and who reports to OSHA if there is a serious accident. This presentation will answer all of these questions and more about the OSHA Temporary Worker Initiative. The last section of this presentation is how Arizona Labor Force uses some best practice approaches to prevent accidents and mitigate claims.“
