December Networking Hike **Moved to 12/10 due to weather**

Description: Join us on a short hike through the cholla and wash with views of Piestewa Peak. Chat with your fellow safety professionals on the trail about projects at work, plans for Chistmas shopping, or what’s doing on with the Cardinals, Suns, Coyotes, Wildcats, Lopes, Sun Devils, or the Lumberjacks! This hike will be a gradual climb to the top of the mountain ridgeline, about 450 feet above the valley floor overlooking all of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.  You’ll be able to view a marvelous sunset to the west. Please RSVP so we know who to look for and don’t leave without ya!

Location: Phoenix Mountain Preserve 40th St Trailhead located @ 9200 N 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85028

Time: Hike starts at 4:30pm, sunset should be at ~5:30pm and we will return to the parking lot by 6:30pm

Starting from the 40th Street park entrance, We will meet and depart from the covered picnic tables next to the bathroom. We will hike through the preserve, where you will see protected flora and fauna, most not seen in the middle of a major city center. Cacti, quail, fox, coyotes, owls, eagles, hawks and sometimes Gila monsters are just a few of the plants and animals we may see along the hike. The hike is scheduled according to the seasons and timed to view our amazing Arizona Sunset, the trails are well kept, defined and easy to navigate. At the top of our hike, there are views to the west as well as views of downtown Phoenix, four peaks, and the surrounding mountains in the preserve. The hike will take roughly 2 hours.

What to bring:
Hiking boots or other supportive footwear
24 oz or more of water
Headlamp or small flashlight
Snack or Fruit
Small pack or backpack
