Position Overview:
Kaizen Safety Solutions is seeking a motivated Industrial Hygiene Intern to assist with
occupational health and safety consulting services for a variety of industries including
construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and commercial operations.
This paid internship provides hands-on field experience conducting industrial hygiene
sampling, respirator fit testing, and workplace exposure assessments under the mentorship of experienced professionals, including a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Interns will gain practical experience in real-world consulting environments, supporting
workplace health programs while learning how industrial hygiene principles are applied across diverse job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with industrial hygiene exposure monitoring including air sampling, noise
monitoring, and surface contamination assessments. - Support the setup, calibration, and operation of industrial hygiene monitoring
equipment such as air sampling pumps, noise dosimeters, and direct-reading
instruments. - Conduct or assist with qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing as part of
respiratory protection programs. - Participate in client site visits alongside CIH and CSP mentors to perform workplace
hazard assessments and exposure evaluations. - Assist with data collection, documentation, and analysis related to industrial hygiene
sampling activities. - Support development of technical reports, exposure assessment summaries, and client recommendations.
- Help maintain and prepare industrial hygiene sampling equipment and supplies for
field use. - Participate in safety meetings, client consultations, and internal professional
development activities.

- This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the practice of industrial hygiene
- consulting. Interns will have the opportunity to:

- Learn respiratory protection program management and respirator fit testing

- Strengthen skills in technical reporting, hazard communication, and client interaction
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational
- Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- Interest in industrial hygiene consulting, exposure assessment, and workplace health.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both in field environments and office settings.
- Willingness to travel locally to client job sites.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in industrial hygiene, toxicology, occupational exposure assessment, or
- safety management.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and industrial hygiene sampling concepts.
- Interest in pursuing professional credentials such as CIH or CSP.
Compensation: this is a paid internship, with hourly compensation based on experience and education level.
