Industrial Commission of Arizona Appoints Phil Murphy as Interim Director of the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health.

From the Public Notice issued on 12/7/23, “The Industrial Commission of Arizona is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Murphy as the Interim Director of the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH). Mr. Murphy brings over a decade of experience to this role, having dedicated 11 years of service to ADOSH in various capacities.

“Mr. Murphy has a wealth of expertise in occupational safety and health, making him an exemplary choice to lead ADOSH during this interim period. Prior to his appointment as Interim Director, Mr. Murphy served as the Assistant Director of Compliance for six years, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to safety regulations across various industries.

Additionally, Director Murphy worked two years as an Industrial Hygienist and three years as a Safety Compliance Officer. His comprehensive understanding of occupational safety, combined with hands-on experience make him an excellent choice to lead ADOSH at this time.

Notably, Phil Murphy is a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran, bringing a unique blend of leadership and strategic thinking to his role as Interim Director. His military background further enhances his ability to navigate complex challenges and prioritize the well-being of Arizona’s workforce.
