JOB TITLE:  SQP Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: The Safety Coordinator position will execute all of the Safety functions for our project located in Tucson, Arizona. The functions of this position will need to be done in an accurate safe and timely manner and with a positive outcome.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include a person to be an on-site Safety Representative for UMEC for the duration of the project with the ability to be hands-on type whom can multi task.  You will need to be able to develop specific site safety policies and procedures. Conduct on site job hazard analysis. Conduct on site safety training, which address specific needs of the project, fall protection training, scaffold user training, forklift and mobile elevated platform training etc. Individual must have ability to work with all levels of crew (Foreman to Apprentice). Position will perform safety inspections and implement control for hazardous working condition or unsafe team member activities. Insures all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Current OSHA 500-Certification, 1st Aid and CPR Certified, and SSTA Certified. Must know how to administer and monitor the implementation of all protective equipment. This position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prefer a minimum of 3 to 5 years construction experience in the construction safety management for large commercial and industrial projects.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in: MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, Lotus Notes
