2022 – 2023 Slate of Candidates

ASSP Arizona Chapter Nominations Committee is pleased to present the following Slate of Candidates.  The Slate was approved by the Nominating Committee on Feb. 14, 2022. This Slate has been developed for the election of Chapter Officers for the 2022 – 2023 Chapter Year.  Per the By Laws, the election will be held during the April Chapter Meeting, if the required quorum of members is present.  The Slate must be posted on the Chapter web page 30 days prior to the election.

Vice President: Jon Cordoba, CHST, CIT
Jon Cordoba has been working in the construction industry since his teenage years. Starting as a carpenter, he began his safety career working for one of the largest home builders in the country. Jon has since worked for large organizations that span the renewable energy, telecommunications, utility, mining, and construction industries. Jon has dedicated his career to building safe work environments for the construction industry and has co-developed and managed successful safety programs that have, in one case, yielded over 8 million worked hours without a loss time injury. Jon currently owns his own business; P3 Safety Solutions, and works as an instructor for the OSHA Education Center at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Alongside his career, Over the last decade, Jon has found time to volunteer as an Outdoor Emergency Care Technician for the Sunrise Mountain Ski Patrol, teaches CPR and First Aid with The American Red Cross, is an FAA SUAS Pilot, and is also a PADI Dive  Instructor.
Secretary: Jo Piña, MS, CSP
Jo has over 18 years of experience practicing health and safety in both General Industry and Construction. Jo is an expert in the following OSHA standards: Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Jo holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from the University of Vermont, a Master of City Planning from San Diego State University, and a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of California, Irvine. She is an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer, taught construction safety as an adjunct professor, and is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals. Jo holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification. 
Treasurer: David L Bellmont, CSP, CPCU, ARM
David has worked in the insurance and safety field for over 30 years and has been the Treasurer of the AZ Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals for over 25 years.
